Yelp: Food, Delivery & Reviews App Reviews

As far as reviews go, I hate that they hide reviews that are "not recommended" and dont include those ratings in the overall score for a business. I think its a pretty dishonest practice. You have to dig deeper to get the big picture. But I do like that it causes a reaction in businesses to step up their customer service

Can businesses remove their bad reviews, yes sometimes, however if you are educated you can read thru crap, know what is a true complaint, or a true positive review... I dont just accept stars... I look at pics that OTHERS have posted, not from the business owner... For small businesses this is a great place to check, because only they dont pay for the expensive monthly fee Yelp can charge for their "service"... If a small biz has 7-10 reviews all 3-5 stars, then Im gonna check it out myself... If it has 2 reviews, then most likely the people who frequent dont use Yelp or dont find it important to leave a positive review... So I like Yelp, its easy to use and I feel for the most part the reviews are fair.

I tried to get on Yelp. When I provided my e-mail, I was told I already had an account. I do not remember this so I tried to reset my password for the app. This seemed to work. So, I started writing a review. Halfway through, I was returned to the password reset page. I just chose to delete the app from my iPad at that point. Too much trouble.

Is it just me that thinks it is funny that people write reviews for a review app?

Every update seems to make the "let me use this app without signing up or logging in" option harder to find. This version made it a faded gray "Skip" button thats on the opposite end of the screen from the bright and easy to see login buttons. Please add a "Never ask me to sign up or log in" option.

Why cant I connect to my Twitter page

I like the service but have deleted this stupid app at least 47 times. Unfortunately, when you want to see a review, this stupid service makes you download the app EVERY f***ing TIME! Is the website not good enough?! You get 1 star for your s****y policy about having to have the app and not being able to use the website.

Yelp is BS now. Pain in the app!!!

Love this app. Makes finding things to do when youre out and about fun. Great to use on road trips when youre in an unfamiliar place and are hungry.

I love Yelp, as it is a honest as it comes to reviews. The only problem I have is that when I click to take photos, the app crashes or freezes. I have to take the photos separate and go back into the app and add photos already taken.

Love leaving reviews on this app. But sometimes the app takes a long time to show my pictures,like 30mins. But other than that it works great.

So South Park was right. Where can you find legit reviews? Yelp isnt the only company deceiving people. Any time I see low reviews and then suddenly high stars with no explanation, I think its a plant.

I love Yelp. I dont know where Id discover thin S without it. The app is decent for searching.

Its just easy to use and helpful as the website.

I wish there was a way to review places and leave zero stars. Also, particularly for Los Angeles and places where parking is an issue...I want to be able to search by parking options. Also, it works be great if it remembered my search preferences. I already am signed in, why not take the app to me?? I want to search by if places are gluten-free or Paleo friendly or vegetarian/vegan friendly. Its super annoying to search for gluten free and then have places show up in search bc one person wrote in their review "not any gluten-free options." Also, if I search on certain terms, when I click into a place to read the reviews, sort the reviews based on relevance! Its amazing how little it seems the design has changed and improved since the website and app were originally introduced.

How you bouta make me have to download the app just to see a menu? Yall hella booboo

Yelp is such a joke! They dont disclose all reviews left for a business, only a select few and usually its only the bad ones. Google always wins!!!!!!

I agree with above review, I got a notice that 3 of my bad reviews were being removed, said couldnt be verified, yet I made them & they sent to my email & they had been posted for months.
