For all its flaws, still the best rating app out there.
As much as its a blessing to get great reviews, its a curse to have to deal with the crazy people. If you dont conform to paying the Yelp 300 a month fee you get the pleasure of them posting more negative reviews than the good ones. This company is truly doing more of a dis-service to the service industry than helping them.
Its only fitting that the app is just as bad as the website. Absolutely ridiculous that I have to download the app, just to see my messages on a cell phone. Yelp is a scummy service, anyway. Nothing but a paid service to have your positive reviews sent to the top. Non-stop pestering from the rude employees calling the business line over and over trying to get me to pay. Take the hint! I dont want to pay for your awful website!
Unreliable and sketchy reviews. OBVIOUSLY seeded and edited. Deleted.
Its extremely annoying to be forced to download the app when you want to leave a review somewhere or do anything on Yelp.com, not a good way to keep people loyal to Yelp, we already use it, dont force it..
Tried and tried and TRIED today to add a business and the app crashes when the address is put in. Whats up with that? (Previously gave the app this 5-star review). We travel. With kids. Yelp is such a great resource for new places; we regularly consult this app for restaurant recommendations and for needed services and amenities. It is a trusted travel tool and we love doing our part to contribute to this knowledge base.
Crashes on startup
Yelp has been like a best friend. I hardly go anywhere these days without checking Yelp for reviews and recommendations. Not really sure what Id do without it. Whenever I want to try something new, I come to Yelp first! Need directions? YELP! Actual customer photos? YELP! Had a good or bad experience and want to leave feedback that matters?? YELP! Very intuitive and user friendly! Its a MUST HAVE!
The iPhone app is the best thing ever. Its constantly being updated and is your gateway to finding wonderful places in your own backyard or where you are travelling to. I use it constantly and find it incredibly useful. The iPad app is the most frustrating thing ever if you wish to engage in the social aspects of Yelp. Basic functionality such as the talk section, news feed, messaging, and viewing the details of a persons profile are all missing (and have been for years).
Latest update broke the app for me.
The most frequent update is not allowing the app to work. I just tried to re download it too and still wont open. Great app, just please fix so I can use.
Crashes immediately
Untrustworthy. They hide or remove reviews, allow obvious fluff reviews to remain. Ive used their review system to pick a few places and had a horrible experience at those places...one of them a hair salon and ended up with a horrible hair cut. Id give them zero stars if possible.
Id like to read reviews without having to use the app. I downloaded the app to write a review and immediately deleting it.
Absolutely useless and frustrating
Every time
The fact that they force you to download this worthless app instead of being able to leave reviews via their website in mobile Safari is asinine. Just another way to generate ad revenue.
I rely on Yelp all the time and have not found a better guide for my needs and tastes!
Fix the app crash on open. Running latest software on iPhone 6.
