Yelp: Food, Delivery & Reviews App Reviews

Regardless of what their claims might be, Yelp does indeed remove low ratings and poor reviews at the request of business owners and managers, most notably ones who advertise with them. One of the sleazy ways around admitting to this is placing a poor review into the reviews "not recommended by yelp" area, hoping you wont read them. They will throw an occasional 4 or 5 star review into the mix to make it look like its all on the up and up, but it is not. After watching several local businesses in the area for some time its almost comical to watch the negative review on them disappear in a short period of time, with yelp hiding behind the pretense of this process being "automated". Be careful when choosing a place to eat or shop when using yelp, you can easily get burned by false positive reviews and deleted or hidden truthful reviews. Always double check with sites like tripadvisor and other review sites, where they do not cater to businesses for their own personal gain. Any business who advertises with Yelp can have your negative reviews deleted immediately, no questions asked. These guys are bought and paid for by some of the shadiest businesses in the entire world. 1 star is much to high for this pathetic, extremely dishonest app that is Yelp. Not to be trusted. Patronizing any of the businesses who advertise with them is extremely risky.

Very unaccommodating staff, disorganized operation that just couldnt do anything right from the moment we stepped foot in the door to the meal served at the very crowded tables. Food was unpredictable, mediocre, and expensive. There are so many other great restaurants within walking distance that actually serve good food and care about their patrons, that I would try any other before coming to Cafe Zola. Maybe the food would have not have tasted that bad, if we hadnt been soured by the entire experience.

Cannot say enough good things about this place and their employees! Bought a house, only reason I moved. Well maintained, great location and the attention I received whenever I needed something or had a question was hands down the best!!!! Thank you Westlake Villas!!!

Arrived late, brought no packing paper!,insufficient packing boxes and no sense of urgency. We ended up paying DOUBLE, worst case scenario, and they still did not load everything. On the other side, marble tops destroyed, lamps with bulb AND shade crammed in truck with absolutely NO packing material. It is a terrible business. Go elsewhere.

App is bloated and amateur reviews are usually friends of owners and have little merit

I use Yelp on an almost daily basis. I find all sorts of businesses from restaurants to storage facilities. I have not had any issues using this app.

Unreliable reviews purely based on advertising.

Fake reviews. Youll see good reviews from only good doing business. Its hurting small businesses. Yelp should get banned in end of year 2016

I am obsessed with the app. I search for food with the nearby function when I need lunch, look at pictures of food on reviews, read a lot of reviews to help me make or break going somewhere, and I love the rewards and badges that come with my check in. I do recccomend that when I check in somewhere you guys should minimize the questions. Example: if Im at a taco truck in Los Angeles, asking me if they accept Apple Pay should not be a question to ask in my opinion. Its a freaking Los Angels taco truck!!! They take cash only lol .. That question bothers me every time I see it. But I still love the app. Keep up the good work

Im just rating the app here, not Yelps questionable business practices. The current app version will not launch on my iPhone 6 running the latest version of iOS. It also appears that seems to be funneling reviews written about local businesses into the App Store.

Why do I need to install this buggy app if I want to use the Yelp mobile website? For years the Yelp mobile website worked perfectly fine. Now you need to download this stupid app if you want to make full use of the mobile website.
